We continually try to make this website usable by as many people as possible and follow WCAG 2 guidelines.
Text Sizing and Line Height
All page text fonts are a minimum of 16pt and we have followed WCAG 2 guidelines for the minimum line height (line spacing) to at least 1.5 times the font size.
In addition, text size on this website can be adjusted on most browsers by pressing Ctrl and + to enlarge or Ctrl and - to reduce.
We have ensured that all text meets WCAG 2 guidelines for text contrast ratio requirements. This includes text shown in the heading, in navigation menus and in the main page area. Buttons and icons are also checked. As with all content managed websites it is possible that added images, and in some cases pasted text, could contain font colours that fail to meet these requirements. Websites are reviewed periodically by the site developers to ensure accessibility is adjusted and requirements are met.
It is also possible there may be some practice branding which could include logos, headings and buttons which are not within the WCAG 2 contrast guidelines. We are happy to discuss such issues or alternatively there are many ways of altering the page contrast via your web browser. A search for 'browser change colour contrast' will reveal many websites offering advice. Alternatively, to change or invert the colour scheme, to make webpages easier to read, we recommend installing the Chrome extension High Contrast and use with Google Chrome:
To install High Contrast open your Google Chrome browser then click here, then click the button, then click the Add Extension button.
Once installed, click the speaker icon, , next to the search bar, in the top right of the browser window and select the preferred colour scheme. To set, click the Set as default scheme button. The colour scheme can be disabled by pressing Shift+F11 or via the extension.
For website Text-to-Speech we recommend installing the Chrome extension Select and Speak and use with Google Chrome:
To install Select and Speak open your Google Chrome browser then click here, then click the button, then click the Add Extension button.
Once installed, highlight the text you would like to hear, then click the speaker icon, , next to the search bar, in the top right of the browser window.
Please ensure you have a speaker connected and the sound is on and turned up. Alternatively you could use earphones or headphones.
