Primary Care Network Manager Immediate Vacancy 

  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

Affinity Primary Care Network (PCN) established in 2019 the Primary Care GP surgeries included are Fallodon Way Medical Centre (Henleaze), Westbury on Trym Primary Care Centre, Greenway Community Practice (South Mead) and Sea Mills Surgery.

We are all committed to provide high quality care with network resources, to be efficient and innovative with contracts and opportunities, and work collaboratively with others for the benefit of our patients and Practices.

Since forming Affinity PCN, we have seen great benefits in achieving projects, recruiting, sharing staff and more recently in supporting each other during the coronavirus outbreak.

The PCN is now looking for an efficient and effective Manager to work closely with the Executive board and Steering Committees to meet the requirements of the Network, maximise service delivery and financial efficiencies, recruit shared team members, share best practice within the PCN, maintain honest communication and provide good financial reporting.

As a direct manager, the post holder will have operational responsibility for various functions of the primary care network including the management staff, the oversight and management of the finances for the Network, resourcing and compliance whilst delivering and monitoring projects and services committed or commissioned by the Network.

Understanding of the NHS is advantageous but not essential, training and mentoring is available for the right candidate. Financial acumen and experience of managing procedures including budget and cash flow forecasting are essential.

As a member of the Network management team, the PCN Manager will support colleagues in the network’s practices.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills. Confident in the collection, analysis, presentation, and use of data and with demonstrable experience in business and contractual administration.

General Practice Nurse

Due to practice growth, Sea Mills Surgery have a super opportunity to join their warm welcoming and professional practice nursing team.

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable nurse(s) to join our welcoming and professional team delivering chronic disease management, health education and treatment room services including wound management, cervical cytology and immunisations.

Our team are passionate for supporting patients to be healthy, physically and mentally - we are keen to hear from applicants who are either experienced with patients in a general practice treatment room setting with experience of or commitment to develop long-term chronic disease management - a combination of skills would be advantageous. 

The ideal candidate(s) will have a minimum of 1-2 year General Practice nursing experience within a primary care setting and enjoy the diversity of working within a friendly family training practice, continuously striving to deliver quality, viable and safe services. We also welcome interest from return to Nursing General practice nurses. 

Working within our supportive clinical team of Doctors, Nurses and Clinical General Practice Assistants you will be assisted by Nurse administrators to provide outstanding care and support to Sea Mills 8500 patients ranging in age from 0-100+

Following on from the success of our previous apprenticeship candidates the practice is seeking to recruit enthusiastic, self-motivated Medical Patient Navigator (customer services) / General Practice Business Administration Apprentice for 2023. 

The role will provide the opportunity to learn all aspects of day to day running of a Community General Practice, from front of house reception to all aspects of the administration supporting the patient journey from birth to age 100+

The opportunity will include learning and taking on responsibilities such as Data IT support, much of the work within the Practice involves data, from ensuring patient records are accurate and up to date to maintaining the practice web site.

  • You will be providing an excellent administrative service for the practice and patients.
  • Qualifications Required: GCSE Grades A* to C (9 to 4) or equivalent in English Language and Maths
